THE FALL UNCOMMON PLANT SALE
WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
Our Fall sale was a big success and we were so happy to see all our returning customers and especially the children. We have been working extra days for several weeks to get ready.
Marla Reagle planted several pots of Milkweed seed, which were several inches high, and we gave them to the children, along with the information about the Butterfly cycle.
We had several tables of Boutique Items that were very popular. We have some very creative people in our group.
The weather was very pleasant which is always a plus for us and our customers. So now we take a week off and start work again.
Enjoy Fall. Gerri Herth
Volunteers host a twice-yearly rare and unusual plant sale during the Fall and during the Spring Garden Tour. There are many varieties of shrubs, perennials, bulbs and hardy annuals for sale, as well as ‘water-wise’ plants for the garden, a large selection of succulents and even some cacti. General garden questions are always welcome. Profits from the sale help fund many community groups and projects.
RHIS member volunteers at the RHIS Plant Propagation Yard in Prospect Park (across from the Carriage House) meet on Wednesday mornings. The volunteers participate in the caring and propagation of the many plants the RHIS Plant Propagation Yard offers for sale to the public twice a year.
